Biographical Information
Dr. Peters graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in preprofessional studies before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from UNC Adams School of Dentistry. Dr. Peters then completed a two-year general practice residency in dentistry program at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, followed by a Master of Science degree and certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from UNC Adams School of Dentistry. Her master’s thesis focused on the association of oral biopsy with tobacco and alcohol cessation.
Prior to joining the ECU School of Dental Medicine team, Dr. Peters practiced clinical oral pathology and served as an adjunct assistant professor at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. Her hobbies and interests include spending time with her family and exploring North Carolina’s state parks.
