Biographical Information
Dr. Pardi is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Dental Public Health within the Department of Foundational Sciences at the ECU School of Dental Medicine. She earned her DDS, MS, and PhD from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and has been actively engaged in Oral Epidemiology and Dental Public Health since beginning her dental studies in 1998.
She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Oral Epidemiology at the Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, NY (2006–2007), and later worked as a research scientist in Microbiology (2009) and Orofacial Pain (2011) at the New York University College of Dentistry.
Before joining ECU, Dr. Pardi served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She has authored 50 peer-reviewed publications and has mentored numerous graduate, dental, and undergraduate students across the United States and Brazil.

Research Interests
- Oral health promotion and disease prevention for pregnant women, new mothers and their children
- Role of diet/nutrition, behavior, oral health literacy, oral health-related quality of life and social determinants of health on the maintenance of a good oral health.
- Provide evidence-based data that supports the creation of health promotion programs to reduce the burdens of oral disease on underserved and underrepresented population
- Dental caries prevention and management.
