Biographical Information
Dr. Gabarée is a native of Boston. Prior to joining the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine as Assistant Director, SLC – Ross Hall, Dr. Gabarée, for more than 6 years has been the Department Head of the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs at Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Prior to moving to Jacksonville, Dr. Gabarée lived in Santa Maria, California for 25 years. There he was a part-time instructor for 15 years in the dental assisting program, and for 2 years he was the Program Director for the Bridges to the Baccalaureate National Institute of Health grant program, at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California. While teaching part-time at the local community college, he also maintained a full-time dental practice for over 15 years. As a Certified Leadership Instructor of Phi Theta Kappa’s humanities-based leadership development curriculum, he has taught leadership development for over 10 years to a diverse segment of the Santa Maria Valley professional and business community. In May of 2015, Dr. Gabarée graduated from Northeastern University, earning a Master of Education with a concentration in higher education administration. Dr. Gabarée chose to pursue his Master of Education degree out of his desire to further his ability to be a catalyst of thought and influence for our nation’s next generation of dental health care providers and leaders.
