Biographical Information:
Dr. Flores received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Central University of Venezuela School of Dentistry in 2011. Thereafter, he completed a two-year research fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in the Departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. At Case Western, Dr. Flores’ research focused on post-extraction pain management in patients along with temporomandibular joint disc repair using mesenchymal stem cells in an animal model. In 2015, Dr. Flores enrolled in the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). Under his mentor and program director, Dr. Ricardo Padilla, at UNC-CH, Dr. Flores investigated the role of immune-inflammatory responses in precancerous oral mucosal lesions. Dr. Flores was awarded his specialty certificate and Master of Science degree from UNC-CH in May 2018.
