Biographical Information
Dr. Ball serves as the Director of the Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program. He received his dental degree from West Virginia University and completed his residency training in pediatric dentistry at the U.S. Army Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry, Ft. Meade, MD and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C. Prior to entering academics, Dr. Ball proudly served in the United States Army Dental Corps, retiring in 2015 after a successful 30-year career. He served in multiple leadership positions across the globe. Dr. Ball is a past Pediatric Dentistry Consultant to the Surgeon General of the Army. Following his military career, Dr. Ball joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor and Clinic Director in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry at Houston. Prior to joining the East Carolina School of Dental Medicine, he served as the Associate Program Director of the NYU Langone Health Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry Program, San Diego, CA. Dr. Ball is a Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is joined by his wife, golf partner, and best friend, Yong Hui (Sophie).
