Biographical Information
Dr. Boden has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the ECU School of Dental Medicine since 2024. Before coming to ECU, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Care Coordinator for Midwestern University’s College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona, where he served from 2011–2024. From 2004-2011, he became the inaugural Program Director of the GPR program at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Additionally, from 2001–2011 he was in private practice, as a sole proprietor, in Bethlehem, PA.
Dr. Boden earned his DMD in 1996 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In the summer of 1995, he completed a Native American/Public Health Service Externship at Tanana Chief’s Conference Dental Clinic in Fairbanks, Alaska. He completed a General Practice Residency in 1997 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Dr. Boden received the 2021 Midwestern University Faculty Member of the Year Award and is a member of professional organizations including the ADA, NCDS, ADEA, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and was inducted as a Fellow into the International College of Dentists. He is an ADA CODA Site Visitor and an Examiner/Consultant for the ABDE (ADEX) as well as our ECU SODM ADEX Site Coordinator. Dr. Boden has been active in community service and has recently assumed the duties as our Hyde County Clinic Coordinator.
